Thanksgiving -> You're Welcome

Dad requested that I share this tradition that Melissa and I celebrate every year following Thanksgiving. It is called You're Welcome, and it started the first year we were married. At that time we were new to Seattle, and didn't know many people, so we went to dinner with Melissa's brother over to his friend's house. It wasn't until the next day that we realized that we were missing the best part of Thanksgiving. Mainly the turkey sandwiches, cold stuffing, and the pumpkin pie for breakfast. So we decided to make the entire meal over again ourselves, just for the leftovers; and in the tradition of THANKS giving, we named it You're Welcome. So every year since then we have celebrated You're Welcome sometime on the weekend following Thanksgiving. Where Thanksgiving is formal, requiring dressing nice, using such things as "plates, silverware, and manners"; You're Welcome is a relaxed affair with family. It is usually celebrated in your pajamas, watching movies, and eating informally throughout the entire day. And so since then, I have preached the tradition of You're Welcome to anyone who will listen. It is not a replacement, but more of a detox from the stress of Thanksgiving. And so I continue to spread this new holiday, until in years time, I find it on a calender.
